Virgin Snow - South Korean film (Hatsuyuki No Koi)

I like Korean love dramas and movies as they have a happy ending . I feel that Indian Literature all great love dramas have a sad ending . we people believe that sadness gives a comfort and longing.Koreans dramas focus on love and subtle perseverance because waiting for the person who has move'd away is also a love it creates hope and flutter in the heart and longing to push on.

i like their "chaiyo "  fighting on  which all lead actors use with their fisted fingers  thrown upwards to show us one shouldn't lose hope and courage and keep on fighting adversity as we come across in life.

I wanted to share few movies which had moved me and made me long for this non existent love. in this busy world the person you like who changes mobile phones like how he changes his clothes and fast technology movement is there growth for the slow malnutritioned love to grow. 

I love the cherry blossoms flying in the air it creates hope emphasizing the short span of its life. I see all lead actors meeting under cherry blossoms tree and flying cherry flowers petals make the scene romantic.

This story is built on the promise shared by our leads to meet during first snow as they pair which meets during the first day of snowfall are bound to stay forever together. The male lead name is 

Min (LEE-JOON-GI) who moves to Japan from Korea. Min's father is a potter and he moves to Japan and eventhough Min doesnt know the Japanese language. Min joins a new school and he loves to see around kyoto and snaps pictures. On one such of his travels he gets injured on his bicycle and gets to meet the female lead Nanae( AOI MIYAZAKI) at a local shrine. she treats his wound and he follows her around even though both have language as a barrier. Min following Nanae come across a fortune teller and Nanae asks him to pick one sheet. Min gets a lucky note and he sees a tree tied with paper notes and moves forward to tie his sheet but Naenae tells Min that only unlucky ones are tied and good ones are to be kept with the person. MIn goes home but he cannot forget his encounter with Naenae. 

Min joins his new school where he befriends a funny girl who can speak korean and she helps him tounderstand. Min gets into fight with three guys in the school who think that Min is a theif stealing bicycle and Min who is a black belt in teakwondo thrashes them and moves on with his bicycle as they have language issues. Min feels "Feet is faster than words"

Next day, he goes to school a little late and of course funny Japanese girl speaking Korean comes and ushers him to Gym class where students are practicing "Kendo" or swod fighting. The guy Min thrashed at the cycle stand is there too. He asks the  MASTER to allow him to fight Min stating that Min was renowed sowrdsman in Korea. The master agrees and allows him to fight ,Min misunderstands the figting as welcome party for him and gets hit on his head and faints. The funny girl explains and the guy asks for forgiveness for misunderstanding Min as a thief at the cycle stand. MIn who wakes up at nurses office chances to see Naenae and runs to catch up with her. 

As Min rushes to catch up in his bicycle, he is followed by his two new found friends. As Min sees Naenae nearby he pedals faster to reach her and he is unable to break and the wooden case with paint supplies is thrown into the stream following beside the bridge. Naenae buddy scolds MIn saying it nanenae most prized posession. Min jumps down without knowing its a shallow stream manages to catch hold of the box. He fists the box up for Naenae to see but all the contents fall down into stream as the box hinges comes off. 

Min is super embrassed and sets to right out what wrong he did to Naenae. He sees a similar box with painting tools and is schoked at low funds in his hands. He asks his friends for help to find a part time job. Min works as a joker in a mall for a day. Min sees Naenae on escalator and hides to avoid embrassment. Min buys the wooden box of paint supplies and goes to temple to meet Nanae to give it to her. He sees her drawing and goes to give the kit but she intially refuses staing her kit is good but accepts the kit later as rain plays an spoil sport and they are forced to run and take shelter with the tools and lone stay to watch the rain. Playing with rain is another favourite sport our leads enjoy to take part in. 

Naenae draws the local temple where they had first met and where they spent time watching the beautiful rain showers drenching the earth. Min is super excited at receiving the gift from Naenae. He calls Naenae during class hours and takes her out to show the places around kyoto. Naenae starts learning Korean and Min starts learning Japanese and they try to bridge their language differences. During their tour of Kyoto Naenae and MIn happen to come across a bowl in earthware store. Naenae tells him how the bowl is worked upon by two people- a potter makes the ceramic and is painted by a painter. Min promises Naenae that one day he will make her a ceramic bowl and she should paint it.

Min who hated pottery started learning how to make bowls from his father to impress the girl and he fails in his attempts as he gets cracks in the bowls as he had not beaten the mud properly to remove the air from them and starts again to make something for her. He makes her a piggy bank. Meanwhile Naenae mother is beaten cruelly by her new boy friend. she fears as her sister takes up a knife to stan him, Naenae fears that she will lose anyone family member and plans to move away. Min  It is their one month anniversary and Min takes his piggy bank  as his gift and Naenae dressed in a traditional attire has prepared a satchel with a letter in it. Min and Naenae exchange gifts and Min opens the satchel but Naenae asks him to open it later. Min and Naenae gets seperated in the festival crowd and Naenae tells MIn how she longs to be with him forever but she has to move away from him for the current duration.

An interesting update that those who take a boat ride as a couple will break up was shared by Naenae to Min. Min also share how couple who walk on the lane of Deoksu Palace will break up as a part of their love tidbits.

Min grandmother suddenly falls ill and Min returns to Korea to see his ailing grandmother and Naenae is forced to move without letting her friends know where she moved. Min's grandmother sees the satchel and asks him if he got it for her and he has to part it to his grandmother.and he never gets to read Naenae's letter. Min goes back and shocked to know that Nae nae has moved her house and even her best friend doesnt know about her whereabouts and he moves back to korea.

Two years later , Naenae best friend meets her in a park and Naenae tells her she had to move because of violent mother's boyfriend. Her friend tells Naenae that Min had gone to korea after she had moved out of kyoto. Naenae holds an art exhibhition in Korea. Min's friend also host a music and dance show near the art exhibhition. Accidentaly Min and Naenae meet in the show . Naenae and Min go to a coffehouse to talk but MIn who is hurt by Naenae past actions. He reacts harshly without asking what had happened to her and lashes out at her when she asks him to talk in japanese he brutally says that he doesnt know Japanese as he doesnt have a need for it. Min leaves a heart broken Naenae. Min is hurt and thrashes the porcelain he has made but not painted upon and on the other side , Naenae is reliving the moments spent on a rainy day and it is raining in korea. she still has the porcelain piggy bank he gave. Min destroys the painting given by Naenae and breaks down and he goes to Deoksugung and ties the fortune teller lucky note in the tree.

Min goes to find new porcelain in shelves when he had broken all he had made. he asks his father whether he had made them. Naenae holds on the wooden box before leaveing the exhibhiton. His grandmother comes in and tells him she had made it and gives him the amulet pouch or satchel given by Naenae. Min reads the letter and is shocked that he had misunderstood Naenae intentions and thrashed her.The letter says that Nanae wants to be with Min forever but cannot because she has to go, but asks him to meet her at the first snow on Deoksugung street in Seoul.   Min goes to the art exhibhition and looks at the paintings and sees that all places in the paintings are where they both had visited in kyoto. Min is moved by Naenae love and how she has been waiting for him .He heads to kyoto  and finds diary enteries of Naenae at the local temple priest residence. the priest takes care of Camellia which is a constant love as it needs pampering. Min reads the diary and is shocked to know that Naenae has been waiting for him for many years on the first day of snowfall of deoksugung street.

Min returns to korea and as he makes his way out he sees first snowfall and rushes to deoksugung street where he tied the luck charm. he gets the luck charm from the tree thinikng about whether Nenae will come and turns around to find her behind him. The two lovers reunite as Min asking why did u wait for me Naenae replies I waited for you with the same hope you waited for me.
