Mahabharatham

I was moved by the title song of Mahabharat. I wanted to quote it in my blog.  The music is divine and  lyrics is super adding a diamond to the show. Starts with conch blowing  indicating war of the good or war of the gods

It is an epic which no other epic can compete and suceed.
Mahabharatha the tale of warfare between the kurus and pandavas which lasted for 18 days the blood of great and good warriors reddened the soils.
The war resulted not only in loss of humans but an ultimate truth was also born along with the badness in the form of Bhaghavat Gita.
It is a battle of Dharma and Adharma which will go on till one gains upper hand?
It is a fight between truth and lie will truth win in this?
Mahabharatam is the story of both Jealousy  filled kurus and  the supreme one Krishna who led the people towards ultimate reality(param aathma).
The tale of people with  extraordinary strengths and  calibre with divine boons and weapons that shook the earth and some devoted to gods and some devoted to clan some bound by promise some bound by duty some bound by hatred some bound by love some bound by revenge and everyone working towards their own paths.
The sacred tale which holds the secret to ultimate truth  and  shows the path for the enlightment . Pandavas meet Dharama raj in the form of yaksha  who questions dharma and where in Yudishitir upholds dharma asking him to bring one son of Madri alive . When pandavas retire to the forest and climb the Himalayas  Yudisthir is followed by Dharamaraj in disguise as dog. Yudisthir spends few moments in hell before reuniting  with his brothers and draupadi.
Mahabharatham  holds the key virtues to lead  entire life
It is a tale that highlights the greatness of Krishna how he directs the individuals to chose dharma and how he stands on the side of pancha pandavas to uphold dharma and reminds each one his duty when one waivers.
The tale  highlights the greatness of Gita upadesham.
Mahabharatam is a holy grail of grails.............

Poompuhar- Kannagi story in stone

Kannagi Kannagi is an embodient of Virtue in Tamilnadu. we can see Kannagi statue in Poompuhar where her right hand (Dakshina Hastam) is in Abhaya mudra . Abhay mudra means offering protection to people who submit to her feets. The left hand ( Vama Hastam) is in Kati mudra or Kati Vilambitha mudra. Kati means 'hip' and 'Vilambitha' means hanging. the hand is bend at wrist and placed beneath left of hip. the significance of this mudra is to offer protection to devotees i.e. in times of deluge the waters shall not go beyond the hip. We know that Poompuhar was once swollen by deluge. Hence the statue was placed with Kati hastam to protect the Poompuhar.
