Creativity of children

The word triggers memory down the lane. I have taken classes about creativity , innovation. But did I really innovate myself ?

I would say no to an extent and yes to an extent. Creativity is thinking without inhibhitons. It is like the efforts taken by the wright brothers to fly.

I have become set in my thinking I taught my son that the tracks in the rail game must be circular or oval.


I have grown into the monster of control perfection that I forgot what is to think out of box.

I left my kid to play on his own and when I was back I saw a track pattern in the shape of a curve. I thought it as a bell curve and was amused how come he connected like it when I had taught him how to do it.

I have become so set in my beliefs and practise that I don’t see a new way or an alternate path.

I remembered his teachers telling me not to interrupt my son thinking process by suggesting as an adult I want him to make right choices but we see that some choices we must let them make. we should not force ourselves upon them and make them do what we want instead take a u turn and let them be the boss.

There have been many instances where my kid has made me think why the hell I didn’t ask these questions.


When he was like 2 and half year old he used to pester me with this question why does auto rickshaws don’t have stands like bikes. He used to ask me the question like thousand of time.

When he was about 4 years he used to ask me mama why the bikes don’t have seat belt.

I used to have a deer in the highway look what should I say to him to keep him from popping such questions.

Parenting is a two way learning process where you teach the kids how to do things but in fact they are real teachers who guide us what is right for us.
